Guðlaug Mía Eyþórsdóttir
Objects
live longer than people and forms outlive the objects themselves, a thousand
years is nothing in the life of a form, writes
Broby-Johansen in the year 1966.
By using
everyday objects and doings as an inspiration Guðlaug revisits familiar forms,
colors and textures, evoking new meanings and old remembrance.
Considering the
viewers personal impressions one is invited to form their own interpretations
between the objects themselves, the nature of the objects being constantly
subjected to a viewers assumptions.
One could move
from an office to a bedroom in the blink of an eye, subjectively travelling by
ones positions and perspectives.
The exhibition
was nominated for the Motivational Award of the Icelandic Art Prize in 2020.
